The Colfeian Remembrance Parade took place on Sunday 11 November 2012 at the Old Colfeians' Club.
At 10.50 The Army Air Corps and Royal Air Force Flights of Colfe’s CCF Squadron took post followed by the march on of the Honour Guard. The Parade was commanded by Major Chris Cherry. Nimrod played and the parade was called to attention for a two minutes silence at 11.00. The Last Post was sounded by the bugler, Cadet Corporal George Turpin, followed by Reveille. Prayers of Remembrance by the School Chaplain, The Reverend Tony Collier followed as did the laying of floral tributes by The President of the Old Colfeians, Mr John Nunn on behalf of the O.C.A., The Headmaster of Colfe’s School, Mr Richard Russell on behalf of the School Staff, Cadet Airtrooper Jack Farnhill-Bain on behalf of Colfe’s CCF Squadron, Colfe’s School Captains, George Charalambous & Helen Sutton on behalf of the Senior School and Colfe’s Preparatory School Captains, Jessica Crawford & Etienne McElfresh on behalf of the Preparatory School. The Parade was dismissed and guests enjoyed refreshments in the bar afterwards.
It was particularly pleasing to see current serving Old Colfeians returning for the parade before their imminent departure for Afghanistan.
